Make up Tips!

Hey everyone!

How are you today?

Today as you can see by the title, I am going to be sharing some of my recently learned make up tips!

I just started a makeup course at Tafe and have already learned so much, it is so much fun especially when you are as obsessed with make up as I am.

You may or may not already know some of these tips but for those who don't, I hope I helped :) Also, you may not agree with everything I say, but this is what I've learnt and what works for me!

So let's get into it!

1. When applying foundation, start in the centre of the face (the nose) and blend outwards, most people need the most coverage in the centre of their face. Also, it makes it easier to blend!

2. Again, when applying foundation, don't go past the bottom of the jaw line. If you try blend the foundation down your neck, the colour will be incorrect and with show an obvious foundation line! (You don't want that)

3. When using powder brow product and creating natural looking eye brows, start at the top of your eye brow and work your way to the tail, once you finished that use the leftover product on your brush to define the bottom of the start of your brow. Push the product upwards as it looks more natural. (Hope that made sense haha)

4. Bronzer! I see a lot of people over applying bronzer or contouring in-correctly, although that could just be their personal preference. But there is a correct way to contour cheekbones. Don't suck in your cheeks and put the product in the hollow of your cheeks, put it just slightly above the hollow. Trust me, I was blown away at how much better it looks.

5. Highlight these points on your face for a glowing makeup look: Down the bridge of your nose, top of cheekbones, place between eyebrows and middle of the forehead, eye brow bone and chin. You can also apply highlighter on your cupids bow to create fuller looking lips.

6. For smaller eyes, you can highlight the inner corner of eyes with a light/white eye shadow, this makes them look bigger and makes them POP! Don't apply black eyeliner on waterline, instead use white, really makes eyes look bigger.

7. If applying eyeshadow after applying a foundation, don't apply powder to your face until eyelids are finished. This is so if you have any fallout of have created a little bit of a mess under or around eyes, you can clean up with concealer of foundation. Since you can't put liquid products over powder products!

8. Green toned concealers can help balance out the red of pimples or acne, yellow toned concealers even out skin tones and can help highlight and brighten face, pink toned concealers are good at balancing out purple/blue areas; dark circles!

9. If your lips tend to make lipstick colours look different on your lips, apply foundation lightly on lips first, then apply lipstick! This can make it look lighter and more similar to the colour in the tube.

10. Finally, have fun with makeup! There are so many rules with makeup but you don't always have to follow them! If you feel confident then forget the rules. And remember makeup isn't there to cover up your face, it's there to enhance your natural beauty!
